Jo Ann C. Deweese

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Garland L. DeWeese in January, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Anna and Joseph Vogel of Jasper, IN.

JoAnn was a life-long Lutheran currently a member of St. Luke, Newburgh.

She retired from Whirlpool in 1981 after many years of service.

The DeWeeses loved to travel and had visited most of the fifty states, seventeen countries in Europe, Canada, and Mexico, and took several cruises. In later years they spent the winter on Anna Maria Island in Florida.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Vanselow for his many home visits and Drs. T. Ferguson, A. Stephens, and W. Blanke for the care they gave JoAnn over the years, and a thank you also to her neighbors who kept watch over her. Thanks also to the staff at Woodmont Health Campus and Newburgh Healthcare Center.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter and husband, Pamela S. and Keith Miller of Boonville, IN; her brother, Robert J. Vogel; a niece and nephew; three great nephews, and twin great-great nieces, all of Oregon; her sister-in-law, Catherine DeWeese and family; and her best friend Louise Herrell, all of Spencer County, IN.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, February 18, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Pastor Tom Vanselow, with burial beside her husband, and in the shadow of the church in which she grew up, at Haysville Community Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday, 3-8 PM at the funeral home.
