He is preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Ann Shelton; brother, George Phinney; sister, Sharon McCormick; granddaughter, Alexandria Harper; and great-grandson, Trip.
John is survived by his wife, Willene Phinney; children, John Monte Phinney, Jr., Douglas Michael Phinney, and Timothy Paul Phinney (Aubrielle); 10 grandchildren, Jacob Phinney, Jessica Roark (Daniel), Jennifer Doerr, Douglas Michael Phinney II, Justin Phinney, Timothy Phinney, Jr.,Joseph Phinney (Caitie) Lee Harper, Jr., Zachary and Savanah Harper; seven great-grandchildren, Aiden, Reaghann, Viktoria, Veronica, Samuel, Derek and Keldan; sister, Linda New (Robert); and brother-in-law, Gerald McCormick.
