She had long-time affiliation with the Methodist Church and was currently a member of the Berean Bible Church. Joyce was the owner of Angel’s Halo, an outstanding hair salon in the 1960’s and 70’s. She was a very active member of the local, state and national hair fashion committees throughout her career. Joyce was an avid antique collector and dealer through her company, Angel’s Antiques. Some will remember the days when Joyce Angel could be found at Angel’s Halos making sure the women in her chair were lovely. Others will remember their conversations with her over a cup of fine tea, always served in a thin-lipped cup, while surrounded by a collection of fine antiques. But all who knew her well, will remember her as friendly and full of laughter. The strength of her passion for life was grounded in the fact that she knew God loved her and wanted others to know He loved them too. She leaves behind a legacy of loving her Maker and serving Him well.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harold Webb Angel; and sisters, Norma Faye Pugh and Georgia Wroe.
She is survived by daughters, Diane Reed (Larry) of Lookout Mountain, GA, and Rebecca Ann Massey of Vine Grove, KY; grandchildren, Laura Katherine Reed, Amy Christine Reed, Casey Wade Massey, Thomas Joseph Massey; and great-grandchildren, Reed Simon Byers, Brayden Ella Byers and Greyson Wade Massey.
