On May 6, Tina Norris finished the Race and went on to enter the Rest awaiting her in Heaven. Tina had courageously fought cancer for the last six years of her life, praising and glorifying God all along the way. “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. In the future there is a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day” (2 Tim 4:7-8).
Tina was born on November 4, 1966 to Bob and Dee Dee Harp. At the age of four she trusted in Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior and has dedicated her life to following Him. For the last 46 years Tina has faithfully served her Lord and we are sure that she will hear the words “well done good and faithful servant.” Her greatest joy was helping her two sons Christopher and Craig begin their journeys with Christ at a young age. Tina was passionate about raising her sons to follow Jesus, guided by 3 John 1:4 “I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.” Her entire life was motivated by Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Tina graduated from Harrison High School in 1985 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Wheaton College in 1989. She worked as the director of Royal Child Care until the birth of her first son, at which time she dedicated her life to growing in Christ and raising her children to walk with God. Tina faithfully prayed every day for her husband, Rich, and her two sons, that God would guide and protect each of them. She was a faithful leader in Bible Study Fellowship and loved to sing God’s praises. She sang many solos throughout her life, all of which were dedicated to worshiping and inspiring others to walk closer to Christ. One day her son told her “God gives his toughest assignments to his strongest warriors.” That encouraged her to live out her favorite quote by Abraham Lincoln, who said, “It’s not the years in your life that count but the life in your years.” We all knew Tina as a courageous woman of faith and a faithful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend and we will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Fine.
Tina is survived by her husband, Rich Norris; sons, Christopher and Craig Norris; parents, Bob and Dee Dee Harp; brother, Robert Harp; and sister, Kim Miley.
