 Obituario de Larry McWilliams
Larry McWilliams, 78, of Newburgh, Indiana entered into the presence of His Savior Sunday, November 25th at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, surrounded by his family. Larry was born May 14th, 1940 in Sullivan, IL to his parents Delmar "Dutch" and Maxine (Lofgren) McWilliams. After attending high school in Charleston, IL, Larry served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 through 1961. A dedicated and loyal worker, Larry was employed at Zenith in Evansville for 24 years. Later he was a supervisor at Hudson Valley Tree Company and ADCO before retiring in 2006. He was a member of Zion UCC in Newburgh. Larry's favorite pastime was sitting at the picnic table under a shade tree in his backyard simply watching the world go by. In conversations he would typically sit quietly, listening and occasionally injecting an unexpected deadpan hilarious comment. He was a quiet, firm foundation for those he loved and he will be greatly missed by those of us who loved him in return. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ron McWilliams; and great-grandson, Liam Sandefur. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley (Hines) McWilliams; sons, Daniel (Amy) Kennedy and Brian (Chris) McWilliams of Newburgh, Ken (Jenny) McWilliams of Evansville; stepmother, Peggy McWilliams (St. Louis, MO); sisters, Candace McWilliams, Jody Jenneman, and Cathy Beffa, (all of St. Louis, MO), Kay Ault, (Greenup, IL); and brother, Steve McWilliams, (Pacific, MO); grandchildren, Jacob Madden, Sarah Sandefur, and Rachael Virgin. Larry is also survived by four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Deaconess Gateway ICU for their care and support during Larry's short illness. Visitation will be held at Alexander Newburgh Chapel from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 and 9-10 a.m. on Friday. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Following the burial service at Rose Hill cemetery, family and friends are invited to join together at Zion UCC at 10 West 1st St. in Newburgh for a meal and time of fellowship and comfort.
