Lawrence F. Gray

He retired from Whirlpool after 36 years and was a member of Local 808.

He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Julia (Cunningham) Gray; infant son, Steven D. Gray; brothers, John E. (Bill) Gray, and George (Buck) Gray; sisters, Nellie Ramey, Anna Oliver, and Zelma Stallons.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy N. Gray; daughter, Joannie Phillips of Newburgh, IN; son, Dennis Gray (Dawn) of Harrisburg, IL, daughter Michelle Stroup (Kevin) of Mt. Juliet, TN; sister, Imogene (Polly) Hamock of Mackinaw, IL; grandsons, Jared Gray, Cameron Nolan, Alec Nolan, Trent Rash, Eric Stroup and Darren Phillips; granddaughters, Lindsey Meyer, Jamie Gray, and Rachel Cox; and 14 great grandchildren.

Services will be 11 AM, Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Don Moore, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday, 4-8 PM and Saturday 10 to service time at the funeral home.
