

She was a medical receptionist and retired in 1980 from Evansville Surgical Associates. She was also employed with St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency and Sims, Cates and Fitzsimmons Medical Office. After her retirement, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 30 years. Lenore was a member of Newburgh United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the Nile. She was active in multiple choirs, enjoyed quilting, flowers, birds, and traveling. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Bunco with her girls group for over 60 years and appreciated having lunch with them last Monday.
Lenore was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Kaufmann, and sister, Lois Ellis.
She is survived by her son, Chris Kaufmann (Gail), daughter, Doreen Kaufmann and son, Ted Kaufmann (Annette); grandchildren, Jason Kaufmann (Lindsay), Kevin Kaufmann (Kara Beth), Kenneth Kaufmann (Amanda) and Ann Marie Banet (Travis); seven great grandchildren; brother, Tom Ellison (Marcia); brother-in-law, John Ellis and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Park Lawn Mausoleum Patrician Chapel, 1526 S. Green River Road, Evansville, officiated by Rev. Holly Hardsaw, with burial to follow. Family and friends may visit 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh.
