 Obituario de Lindsay Mari Gentry
Lindsay Mari Gentry, 38, of Newburgh passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020. She was born June 9, 1982 at Scott AFB, IL. Her family announces her passing with a heavy heart. She had the brightest and most beautiful smile, happy eyes, a generous heart and amazing personality. Her work experience included being a psychiatric technician and Phlebotomist. However, she was most proud of her service to our country. Lindsay served in the US Army from September 2001 to September 2006 and she served two tours in Iraq. She served in various capacities as a biological chemical warfare specialist, a bomb sniffer in combat and finally as a prison guard. She won numerous awards and medals but her crowning achievement was receiving the Army Achievement Medal twice and the Army Accommodation Medal. She always put her fellow troops first and went out of her way to protect them. She was heavily involved with VA groups in Evansville. Her family is so proud to have had her for her short time on Earth. Her soul is now with God where she is finally at peace. God bless her. Lindsay was preceded in death by her father, Charles G. Sanders, Jr.; grandfather, Howard Schroeder, and grandmother, Peggy Alexander. She is survived by her mother, Becky Sari Popenoe; step-father, Andy Popenoe; brother, Eric Sanders; sister, Jill Ferrante (Brian); aunt, Kim Alexander (Vincent); uncle, Vince Schroeder (Jeannie); nephews, Liam Sanders and A.J. Ferrante; niece, Tori Ferrante; cousins, Erica and Sofia Schroeder and Brooke Alexander; and Godparents, Cathy and Steve Rousseau. A Celebration of her Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. David Nixon.
