Marvin F. Sobotka

Marvin graduated with an Accounting Degree in 1950 from the University of Nebraska. He retired as a Comptroller from the Bunge Corporation of Danville, IL after 40 years. After retirement, he moved to Mills Shoals, IL and then moved to Boonville, IN to be with his family. Marvin served in the Air Force Reserves. He was a Boy Scout Leader, Little League Coach, very active in church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Quail Unlimited and loved to hunt, fish and travel. He was known by family and friends for his annual 4th of July fireworks celebration.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie Ruth (Reade) and brothers, Clifford and Eugene.

He is survived by two sons, Roger (Jo Ellen) and David (Cheeba); two daughters, Catherine A. Frederick (Marty) and Nancy Schneider (Jerry); six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and brothers, David, Richard, and Raymond.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at St. Clement Catholic Church, 422 E. Sycamore Street, Boonville, IN 47601, officiated by Fr. Lowell Will, with burial at a later date in St. John Cemetery. There will be a meal and fellowship at St. Clement Social Hall at 11:30 AM following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clements Building Fund, 422 E. Sycamore Street, Boonville, IN 47601.
