Michael J. Elmer

Michael J. Elmer, 71, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. He was born April 24, 1951 in Washington, IN to the late William and Bernice (Schnell) Elmer. He graduated from Jasper High School in 1969. Michael graduated from Vincennes University in 1971 with a degree in business. He worked in sales for Cooke Chevrolet and Kenny Kent used car sales. Michael retired from Kenny Kent in 2011 after receiving the transplant gift of a pancreas and kidney. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; younger brother, Rich Elmer; sister, Patty Kemp. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patty Elmer of Newburgh, IN; daughter, Karen (Kevin) Seifert of Santa Clara, CA; sons, Jeffrey Elmer of Edinburg, IN and Steven (Heidi) Elmer of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Amelia and Miles Seifert; brothers, Bernard (Sara) Elmer of Lexington, KY and William (Carol) Elmer of Boonville, IN; sisters, Clara (Jim) Davis of Indianapolis, IN and Donna (Gary) Lamb of Madison, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh, IN. Burial will be at St John Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until mass time at the church.
