Nellie Steinmetz

Nellie Steinmetz, 83, formerly of Newburgh, IN, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012, at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer. She was born January 9, 1929, in Newburgh, to Hal and Helen Wilmarth, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Newburgh High School in 1946. She attended Bramwell Business School and graduated from Evansville College in 1967. She was a life member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Nellie retired from The Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center after 31 years, where she had been promoted to Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director. She enjoyed quilting and cross stitching.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 2007, whom she married November 26, 1966; and nephew, Kenneth Hines.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Hines (Charles) of Switz City, IN; niece, Ellen Sanders; nephews, James and David Hines; 9 great nieces and nephews; 2 great-great nieces; and 1 great-great nephew.

Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 4455 Epworth Road, Newburgh, IN, officiated by Rev. Bill Rasch. Friends may visit Saturday, 10:30 AM until service time at the church.
