 Obituario de Richard D. Collier
Richard D. Collier, 88, of Newburgh, IN passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on November 29, 1930 to Harold and Eva Collier. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1950 to 1958 where he was a second class quarter master. Richard worked at Engineered Metal Products for approximately 20 years in Indianapolis, then moved to Evansville in 1968 where he worked for International Steel Company. He also worked for Rantec (a division of Emerson Electric) and Architectural Sales until 2008. Richard was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for 33 years. He enjoyed designing homes, playing golf, woodworking and he loved to travel. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carol Schmied in 1984. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jill; son, Scott Collier; daughters, Delores Herod, Alexandra Steinicke, Heather Fender; and grandchildren, Jordann, Claudia, Ellie, Anna, Graham, Ashleigh, and Andrew. A special thank you to the staff in ICU at St. Vincent Hospital, particularly Kristen, Deena and Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church officiated by Father Tom Kessler with entombment in St. John Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Friends may visit 9:30 until service time on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or Evansville Rescue Mission.
