 Obituario de Richard Gary Lucy
Richard “Gary” Lucy, 78, of Newburgh, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020. He was born March 2, 1942 in New Madrid, MO to the late Richard Lucy and Mona (Higgerson) File. He graduated from Central High School where he played football. Gary was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Berlin during the Cuban missile crisis and was a member of The American Legion Kapperman Post 44. He retired from Alcoa Industries after 37 years and later from Omni Plastics after 13 years of service. Gary was instrumental in starting Omni Plastics. He was a member of Living Word Christian Church, Reed Masonic Lodge, Evansville Scottish Rite, Red Brush Rifle Range, and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Gary enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He never missed any of his grandkid’s activities. Gary is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene Lucy; daughter, Pam Lucy; son Todd Lucy (Jill); daughter, Cindy Riedford (Greg); grandchildren, Jamie Riedford, John Riedford, Michael Riedford, Ellie Lucy, Daniel Lucy and Will Lucy; sister, Harriett Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Living Word Christian Church, 3888 State Road 261, Newburgh, Indiana, officiated by Pastor Mike Claypool, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. The American Legion Kapperman Post 44 will conduct military rites. Friends may visit 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2020 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
