She was a nurse for 40 years and the center of her families lives even longer. Her smile and faith were always present and reassured us everything is going to be alright.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Edwin Carey.
She is survived by son, Edwin Carey II (Jacque); daughter, Anna Marie Williams; sons, Shawn Carey (Delia), Shane Carey (Tara), Joel Carey (Amy); 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Parks and sister Thressia Usherwood.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN, officiated by Rev. Dr. Martin Noland with burial in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN, and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
