Bob was of the Christian faith. He graduated from Castle High School in 1970. He retired from the railroad, and enjoyed fishing, grilling and gardening. Bob was a bone marrow donor for his older brother, Jerry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norris W. and Ernestine Rice; and brothers, Jerry and Gary Rice.
Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Julie Calhoun Rice; sisters, Janine Young (Gary) and Jennifer Barron (Steve); brother, Norm Rice; and sister-in-law, Patricia Rice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Neal Rice, Bob’s nephew, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday, 3-8 PM and Sunday 12 PM until service time at funeral home.
