He graduated from Reitz High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. Ted retired from Alcoa after 30 years. After his retirement, he was the Warehouse Manager at Lea Matthews and Manager at Super Shine Car Wash in Newburgh. He enjoyed boating, golf, playing cards and dancing. Ted was most proud of his three children and putting them all through college.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; and sister, Betty Lou Rippy.
Ted is survived by his son, David Rabe (Melinda); daughters, Becky Fitzsimmons (Dave), Lisa Parr (Bob); step-daughter, Cheryl Meier (Keith); step-son, Gary Stafford (Cheska); former wife of 36 years, Mary Williams; sister, Merlyn Weiss; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and partner, Janet Madden.
The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Home for their care and kindness.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 308 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN officiated by Chaplain Tara Powell. Friends may visit 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
