Theresa "Terri" Anne Brown

Theresa Anne “Terri” Brown, 61, of Bloomington, IN was born in Evansville, IN on November 28, 1956 and passed away from complications related to ALS March 9, 2018. She was surrounded by the love of family and friends at the IU Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana. Terri graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville in 1974 and was a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital as a LPN and then RN. She worked as an advocate for her patients for over 35 years at St. Mary’s in Labor and Delivery and Mother and Child Well-Care. Terri was an avid outdoors woman, hiker, gardener, and lover of nature. She and Thom volunteered at Camp Ondessonk in the Shawnee National forest for more than two decades, and donated resources so that numerous kids could attend the camp. She loved to travel with her family and cherished time spent teaching, exploring and spending time with her grandchildren. Terri was an organic farmer and avid defender of the environment throughout her life and was an early member of the Southern Illinois Farming Network. Terri was a devoted sister, friend, and counselor for all who were blessed to have her as part of their life. She was preceded in death by her sons, Justin Will Brown and Jordan Travis Brown; and mother, Thelma Jean Will. Terri is survived by her husband of 42 years, Thom; son, Devin (Cara Bergschneider); grandchildren, Shawnee and Trillium; father, Ramon Will (Sylvia); brothers, Larry Will (MaryBeth), Michael Will (Jean Seak Young), Mark Will (Pam), Jeffry Will (Roseann Egidio), Greg Will (Vicki), Brian Will (Karen); and sister, Barbara Will-Henn (Matthew). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 17, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh, IN officiated by Rev. Thomas Kessler with burial in Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown. Friends may visit 4-8 pm on Friday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
