He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Antonia Cruz; father, Eusebio “Chembo” Cruz; children: Marybelle (David) Mendez, Migdalia (Richard) Kuhn, Marisol (Shawn Trost) Cruz, Angel L. Cruz, Jr., Miguel Angel (Adriana) Cruz, Jennifer (Barnaby) Angeles; grandchildren: Damaris Mendez, Delani Mendez, Jacob Hassan, Jessica Tenorio, Micaela Mercado, Tatiana Mercado, Nneka Cruz, Angel L. Cruz III, Xavier Cruz, Leila Cruz, Joaquin Mercado, Mikey, Mia, Lily Cruz, the late Baby Cruz; great grandchildren: Leilani, Lucas, Athena, Noah, Evie, Avry; siblings: Mary (Juan) Mendez, Rene (Debbie) Cruz, Ebbie (Gladys) Cruz, Miriam (Rene) Fernandez, Fredo (Linda) Cruz, Frank (Lydia) Cruz, Sori (Roland) Garcia. Preceded in death by his mom, Cecilia Cruz (Vargas), brothers: Aurelio Cruz and Carlos Cruz and great grandchildren: Lilith Ezra.
Angel loved to read his bible and listen to music. He also enjoyed boxing, baseball, playing guitar and FOOD. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Blake Lamb Funeral Home 4727 W. 103rd St. Oak Lawn, IL, with a Celebration of Life starting at 12:00 p.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery Evergreen Park, IL.
