7 years you were taken from us and not a day goes by that you aren't in all of our thoughts.  To say you are missed is an understatement.  Lots has changed since you left us pops but one thing that remains the same is the hurt in all of us that you left us that day.  You are still here in our thoughts every day, a joke that's said or a talk with Mom usually brings us back to you.  You were more of a person than you will ever know with all of us.  Salud Pops, we will share an adult beverage in your honor tonight with the family.  Until we meet again.

It's been over two months now and I still can't believe and don't want to believe what happened. So many times I want to call the house and hear you one last time to tell you a joke or talk sports.  I make it through everyday so far just thinking about you and the 49 years of memories I have of you. I love you dad, you made me the person I am today, gave me my house through the work ethic you instilled in us all. You will never be forgotten and the memories will last forever.

There are no words of comfort that could ever make me feel better about losing you. It was as if we blinked our eyes and you were gone, we didn't even have a chance to catch our breath. Life will never be the same without you. You brought happiness to everyone's lives that you touched, what a wonderful person you were. I'm ever so grateful that I got to call you dad, because you are the best of the best. I love you with all of my heart and will miss you every single day of my life.

Clara and family, Words cannot express our condolences. We knew Augustin to be a devoted family man and husband. He was a very special person with so much love and light; his passing will leave a huge void. We will always remember his smile, humor, and devotion as a number 1 White Sox fan and as a golf aficionado with many fond memories. Our love, thoughts, and prayers are with you. To all my dear aunts, uncles and cousins…

I am writing this with a very heavy heart. I know that we all are feeling so much sorrow. The recent deaths of “Big Al” and Fabian are still fresh on our mind. Now with Uncle “Teet” gone it is hard to believe. I can't help but feel these men would live on and on. They were icons of our legacy.

Dearest Claire, Tony, Steven, Tommy, Crissy and family…

We want you to know that it hurts us so much not be there with you. Unfortunately for us, transportation was extremely difficult and limited due to the holidays. We have so many fond memories of Uncle Teet. I am so glad we saw him so happy last year in October for the Franco's wedding anniversary. It was the last time we saw Fibo too. I can hear Uncle Teet in his best Texas drawl…”we comin' to see ya'll in Fart Wuth”. I know he enjoyed his visits here, and it was his last visit here that I took Teet, Claire, Louis and Rose to see the famous Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Unfortunately, we were pressed for time and did not take the tour. But he was impressed with what he saw and commented…”Jeez, everything is bigger in Texas!”

My emotions are intense and my words can't say enough about my Uncle Teet. Perseverance, a word that best describes his loyalty and allegiance to serve our country in the armed forces. Men like him were the backbone of our country. His perseverance took him to his wife Claire, his partner and soul mate. Together they have a legacy of life, a legacy of love, a legacy of family and friends. 

Finally, how can I speak of my Uncle Teet without mention of his golf game. To paraphrase…”Put on your shirt of red, and your pants of blue, hit it hard and putt it true…”
