Catherine Elizabeth Duffy

Catherine Elizabeth Duffy, (nee Evans). Beloved wife of the late James J. Duffy, Sr. Devoted mother of Patrick Duffy, Kathleen Kain(James), James Duffy, Jr., Brian Duffy, Timothy Duffy (Tina), Mary Krisco (Greg), Terese Bollman (Sonny), Sharon Scharpov, Marty Duffy and Claudia Duffy Wallace (Steve). Cherished grandmother of eleven and great-grandmother of three. Loving daughter of the late Claude and Lena Evans. In 1946, Catherine became a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Chicago and received her BS in Nursing from St. Xavier College, she worked as a Obstetrical Supervisor at St. Luke’s Hospital, was a staff nurse in obstetrical department at Illinois Central Hospital. Catherine worked as a Staff Nurse in Obstetrical at Holy Cross Hospital from 1950-1957, from 1957-1969 was a staff nurse in the neonatal intensive care at Little Company of Mary Hospital, and then was a part-time staff nurse in the pediatric department at Little Company of Mary Hospital. In 1970 she became a Teacher Nurse for the Chicago Board of Education and in 1982 received her MS in Health Science Education from Governors State University. In 1990 and until 1995, she was an Instructor in Basic Nurse Assistant Program at Daley College in Chicago.
