Dorothy Allen

Dorothy is the loving wife of the late Gerald Allen; cherished mother to Mary Jo Pomeroy and the late James Allen; beloved grandmother to Melissa (Jamie Salazar) Pomeroy, Michael (Amanda Zygadlo) Pomeroy, and Jerry Allen; great-grandmother to James and Joey; fond sister to Joan (Jerry) Thurston; aunt and great-aunt to many; and her furry grandbaby Lucy.

She was an active and faithful member of St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, where she held many volunteer positions, and was a member of their Senior Group. Dorothy was also a member of the Durkin Park Senior Group. Dorothy had the ability to make friends easily, and became fast friends with her new neighborhood posse. She will be great missed by all who loved her.

Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2019 from 3:00-9:00 pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home (4727 W. 103rd St.; Oak Lawn, IL 60453). Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church (8200 S. Kostner; Chicago, IL 60652). She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
