

With profound sorrow and broken hearts, we announce the passing of Emily L. Paternostro, who left this world unexpectedly on January 9, 2026. A woman of deep love, strength, and kindness, Emily was formerly of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and her presence will be forever missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Emily was the loving wife of the late Michael Paternostro and a devoted mother to Barbara (Daniel) Lenihan, Donna (John) Palmer, and Thomas (Shari) Paternostro. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Tony (Sarah) Rio, Jason (Kelly) Palmer, Jen Lenihan, Chris Palmer, Michael Lenihan, Taylor Palmer, Kathryn Paternostro, and Tommy Paternostro, and a devoted Nana to Carmine and Lucy Rio, Aubrey Palmer, and Nash Palmer.
Emily was the dear sister of Dolores O’Sullivan (the late Jerry) and the late Ann and Vic Frale. She was a loving aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to many, and a loyal and caring friend to countless others. Emily’s love knew no bounds, and her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, Oak Lawn, Illinois, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Morning prayers will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., with the procession to St. Gerald Parish departing at 10:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gerald Parish, 9310 S. 55th Court, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, followed by a Committal Service at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois
