Francis T McGuire

Frank T. McGuire, age 80, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, surrounded by his 5 daughters, son and wife. Born on the Southside of Chicago on August 24, 1945, Frank was a proud U.S. Marine who served his country during the Vietnam War. His dedication to his family and country never wavered, and he carried that same devotion and strength throughout his life.

Frank’s love story with his wife, Celeste (nee Senese), was one for the ages. Married for 55 years, they shared a bond that many would envy. Frank worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 39 years, retiring with a sense of pride in his career. After retirement, he kept busy by working at Enterprise, but his true passion always lay in his family and the things that made him smile: drag racing, the Chicago Bears, the White Sox, and his deep love for America.

He was an active member of the VFW 5220, a lifelong member of the D.A.V., and was known for his sense of humor that kept everyone around him in high spirits. Frank was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back, and as a father, there was no one who could compare. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.

Frank is survived by his devoted children, Kelly (Michael) Murphy, Kerry (Richard) Hall, Frank McGuire Jr., Kristin McGuire, Katie (Jerry) Davey, and Kimberly (Dan) Tuohy. He was the proud grandfather to Connor, Maggie, Megan, Nathan, Carter, Dylan, Mikey, Molly, Gavin, Danny, and Maeve.

Frank is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary and Lauretta, who he loved dearly.

He will be missed beyond words, but his spirit, humor, and the love he shared with those around him will never be forgotten.

A visitation will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Linus Catholic Church, with an interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
