My name is john(jack) Coyle and my family, and my older brother Tommy were blessed to have known Frank. We were lucky enough to have moved into the St. Helena, Fernwood Park neighborhood when the family moved from Ireland to Chi Town. None of us in the family knew a damn thing about American football and quite honestly, it was not our futbol, but thanks to Frank and his coaching ability Tommy and I became pretty good at the yanks game. Tommy became captain at Br, Rice H.S, and the U of M. Not bad for an immigrant and this was only possible because of Frank. My father loved Frank and his father, they did travel to M'S games over the 4 yrs Tommy  played and I was lucky enough to be on some of them, As a son, I will not tell the stories my father, Frank and his father talked about, but they were funny and not stories you tell your mom. I failed to mention that each man(my father, Frank and his father) were what used to be called "A mans Man".  When together though, they were kids playing together. The laughter, the jokes and the stories they told are memories to last a life time> Jack Coyle

No one could have asked for better next-door neighbors than you and Joan! The caring and friendship you showed to me and my family for 60 years is amazing. I cherish all of the kindnesses and memories of you and your wonderful family. I will miss that you were always next-door and ready to listen or to help in any way. Rest peacefully, dear friend.

Coach Klutch,  thanks for all your coaching and support at St Helena and BRHS. You taught football fundamentals and toughness to your players. May God bless you and watch over your beautiful family and players.

On behalf of the Coyle family, we are all very saddened by your loss. Four of us were lucky enough to have been coached by Frank. My family was lucky enough to have become friends with Frank and his father. My father and Frank and the father would play poker together and for four yrs, would spend football weekends up at Go Blue to watch Tommy play. A very sad time indeed. Jack Coyle

Frank coached me at St Helena and freshman year at Brother Rice where I saw him as an excellent coach and a better man! He and his family will be in my prayers, God Bless!

Frank, you were a tough couch and a great motivator! Can’t remember how many times I heard you yell your motivating phrases, directed at me, but I know they worked at the time.  Thanks for caring about us at St. Helena’s and at Brother Rice!
