James William “Jim” Braun, 69, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, on Friday, January 10, 2014. Jim was born in Chicago, IL to William James and Eugenia (Stanis) Braun on June 30, 1944. He was married to the late Donna Mae (Lee) Braun. Jim was an independent truck driver who spent much of his time on the road. He enjoyed sailing on Lake Michigan between his cross-country treks before saying to hell with this weather and retiring to Arizona in 1995. Jim is survived by daughters, Lisa Marie (John) Hurst and Denise Marie (William) Braun-Hart, and grandsons, Dashiell Win Hart and Tristan Jace Hart. A viewing will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, with a burial at St. Casimir Cemetery immediately following. Donations in Jim’s honor may be made to the Sepsis Alliance, sepsisalliance.org..
