Jerome Slattery

Jerome John Slattery born May 19, 1923 in Chicago, IL to the late James and Pearle Slattery. Jerome married the late LaDonna (nee Pierce) in the summer of 1945, while serving his country in both WW2 and Korea. Jerome is survived by his children; Ronald (Michele) Slattery, The late Linda (Wally) Dettmann, and Kathy (Greg) Heath. Grandfather to Staci Slattery, Shannon (Chad) Deckinga, Charley (Maggie) Dettmann, Laura (David) Holakovsky, Kristi (Keith) Cason, Timothy Halperin, and Philip Heath. Great-grandfather to Kaylie Pollard, Chad and Mia Deckinga, Sophia and Vita Slattery, Henry, Nicholas, and Matthew Holakovsky, Chase and Miles Dettmann. Beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews and Brother to the late Pearle (Frank) Koening.

Jerome was a dedicated Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Paulist choir on and off for close to 80 years! He worked at Martino Motors in south Chicago for 33 years then to retire and work for Blake-Lamb Funeral Homes for another 20 plus years at the 31st street and 103rd street locations. Jerome was also a life member of the New Lenox American Legend and Post 9545 VFW New Lenox.

His Kindness and smile is one not to be forgotten.
