Jesus Perez, affectionately known by friends and family as "Chucho," passed away on May 5, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of love, storytelling, and integrity. Born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico, to his parents Abundio and Francisca, Chucho carried the vibrant spirit and values of his hometown throughout his entire life.
A man of great character, Jesús took immense pride in working hard and believed in the importance of doing things right the first time.
This dedication was evident in everything he touched. Whether he was working in his garage-his sanctuary-alongside his loyal dog Fluffy, or tending to his home, he did so with precision and a whistle of his favorite Spanish song.
Chucho found great joy in life's simple traditions. He especially loved the homemade flour tortillas prepared by his wife and a fresh salsa made in the molcajete. His love for his family was often shown through small, thoughtful gestures, like making fresh lemonade for his grandchildren whenever they visited.
A gifted storyteller, Chucho loved to reminisce about his younger years in Mexico, teaching his family the importance of community and helping others. He was the devoted husband of Maria Blanca Perez, with whom he shared a beautiful 50 years of marriage. He was the dear father of Roberto Perez, Jorge (Jessica) Perez, Jose Perez, and Araceli (Andres) Chapa. Chucho's greatest joy was being a loving grandfather to Penelopi, Nyssa, Priscilla, Preston, and Peyton Perez.
Chucho will be deeply missed, but his melody and his spirit of excellence will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
