

Jorge was the beloved husband of 54 years to Elva Zavala Munoz, and a devoted and proud father to Veronica, Patricia, and Jorge Jr., who lovingly called him “Mi Rey,” a reflection of the deep admiration and affection they held for him.
He was a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to one, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life. Jorge’s love for his family knew no bounds, and he found his greatest happiness in their presence.
Jorge is survived by his siblings Pilar, Evelia, Bety, Rosa, Pepe, Martha, Linda, and Lupita, who will remember him for his strength and unwavering support.
Jorge was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Zavala and Maria Concepcion Perez; his beloved sister, Conchita; and his adored granddaughter, Elva, all of whom he held close in his heart throughout his life.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Jorge was known above all as a family man. His life was a testament to love, sacrifice, and commitment. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and instilled in them the values of resilience, compassion, and unity.
Jorge Zavala will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family, and his legacy will continue through the generations he so dearly cherished.
Visitation for Jorge will take place Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his honor on Friday, May 15, 2026 at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
