Dear Dad:

When I see your picture, I don't just see my dad.  I see my hero.  I can still hear your voice and hear you laugh.  You were always concerned about others and never yourself.  Your kindness, humor and general good nature was something all people, especially me, should try to emulate.  I was so lucky God let me be one of the sons of Joseph Heilmann.   

I sure miss you a lot, dad.   You were the best dad a kid could ever have.

I did not know Joe but he was some kind of Basketball player. I was three years behind him at Leo High School and he played with Jim Lamkin and Dave Donegan. They were so much fun to watch and they were Catholic league Lights champs one of the years.

Dear Therese and family:

Shocked to hear about Joe. Just heard about it from Phil Regar, who lives next door to us here in Palos Heights. Your family and ours have been friends forever. I will always remember the great Eulogy to my Dad, that Joe did at his  Funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.
