

Marjorie B. Dougherty, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2023. She is survived by her loving children: Gerald Dougherty, Alice (Ari) Dougherty-Rosenthal, Andrew (Joyce) Dougherty and Margaret (Jan) Montella; Cherished grandchildren: Jaden Dougherty, Jami (Ryan) Gould, Donnie Dougherty, Tabatha Dougherty, Erin Rosenthal, Brittany (Travis Beaulieu) Montella, Blake Montella, Brianne (Andy) Meyer and Danielle (Henry) Czajkowski; dear great grandmother of 4.
Preceded in death by her parents: George and Rose Baker, beloved husband, Donald E. Dougherty, and sister-n-law, Dorothy Dougherty.
Blessed with a beautiful voice, Marjorie enjoyed singing in the church choir, was a devoted member and past President of the “Sweet Adelines” Calumet Corner Chorus and Barber Shop Quartet. She enjoyed getting together with her Sweet Adeline “Cronies” and Carpenter Street neighbors from Calumet Park. Marjorie was a talented seamstress, artist and everyone knew how meticulous and organized she was. She loved spending time with her family, and looked forward to every birthday party, holiday celebration, and attending her grandchildren’s graduations, weddings, musicals, and sporting events. She was very fond of going to the theatre, operas, and ballets. Marjorie will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home (4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn, IL). Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, with 9:15 A.M. prayers from Blake-Lamb Funeral Home to St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church (10621 S. Kedvale Ave, Oak Lawn, IL), Mass at 10:00 A.M. Interment St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
