

Mary Ann Corrigan, (Mac) (Walsh), 61 years young, of Chicago, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving husband, Michael Walsh, by her side on August 9, 2020 after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Mac was raised in Toledo, Ohio and later embraced Chicago as her home. Mary Ann was born to Raymond and Eleanor (Kreuz) Corrigan on November 30, 1958. She was the 7th of 8 siblings to attend Blessed Sacrament School and Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio graduating in 1976. Mary Ann attended the University of Toledo, majoring in Theater. Moving to Chicago to pursue her interest in theater, Mary Ann participated in Second City and other theatrical groups. She worked at the Mercantile Exchange where she met her husband, Michael Walsh. They were married in Toledo, Ohio on September 29, 1990. Mary Ann and Mike lived in the Beverly area of Chicago with their cherished son, Killian. She was involved in the neighborhood community and the Beverly Arts Center. Mary Ann organized programs for young and old at the Beverly Arts Center along with sharing her artistic and theatrical talents with all who knew her. Mary Ann generously gave of her professional and personal skills to assist family, neighbors, and friends with the magical spirit of laughter and whimsy. She was known for bringing family and friends together with gourmet foods, lively conversation, and creative hosting with her husband, Mike. They graciously shared their interests at both of their homes in the Beverly District of Chicago and Michigan City, Indiana making lifelong friendships. Mary Ann expressed her creative talents through painting, glassmaking, decorating and sharing pieces with so many! Her love of life was shared in multitudes of expressive cards and gifts that delighted all! Mary Ann thrilled children and adults with her art, theater, and comedic talents! No one was more generous with her abilities and she will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Mary Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Michael Walsh, Chicago; and her beloved son, Killian Walsh, LA and Chicago. She is survived by 7 siblings, Gary (Patricia) Corrigan, Sylvania, Ohio; Raymond (Karla) Corrigan, Perrysburg, Ohio; Colleen Pivoriunas (Rich) Perrysburg, Ohio; Maureen St. John (Robert) Perrysburg, Ohio; Kevin Corrigan, Toledo, Ohio; Kathleen Meade (Dennis) Riverside, Illinois and Sharon Dubanowich (Richard) Riverside, Illinois. Left to cherish her memory are 18 adoring nieces and nephews across the country. Also surviving are dear aunts and uncles and 80 first cousins. Mary Ann was predeceased by her devoted parents, Raymond and Eleanor Corrigan and her beloved niece, Shannon Pivoriunas. Mary Ann will be remembered fondly by her caring neighbors and friends from both Toledo and Chicago. A celebration of Mary Ann’s life in a funeral Mass of Resurrections was held on August 15, 2020 at St. Barnabas Parish, Chicago. A memorial celebration will be held in Toledo, Ohio later. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 10134 S Longwood Dr., Chicago, IL 60643.
