Richard A. Gartelmann, 87, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Christ Hospital. Originally from Pullman, Illinois, he went on to play football at Adams State University in Colorado. He was a patriotic veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Quiroz (Alfonso).
He was a loyal fan of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears and enjoyed going to games with his sons. He was a history buff, fancied cars, and took much pride with his landscaping and gardening skills. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and most importantly, a proud Papa to his grandchildren. He left many loving and humorous memories with his family, friends, and acquaintances.
