Dr. Gilbert was Dean of Students when I attended MiraCosta in the early 70's.  I was active in student government and he was a wonderful leader.  I later came to work at MCC and saw him a couple of times in recent years at theatre events.  He was still warm, gracious and positive in his outlook on life.  I hope that knowing how many students benfited from his guidance will be of comfort to you in your loss.

It was such a pleasure to know "Allison".  He always got such a chuckle over sharing his first name.  What a wonderful, sweet man...with true old world charm.  He will be so missed.  Prayers for peace and comfort to your family.

Carol, Cindy & family,
I had the prevelige of meeting your Dad in the late 1960's when he had a group of students that wanted to work in the Community to aid those in need.  He would bring them to our office three times a week. Interesting friendships were formed.  Later, while enrolled at MiraCosta, I worked at the Bookstore.  He was the Dean of Students and his duties included the Bookstore.  He was always made it a nice place to work.

He is in a better place. God Bless your family as you grieve the loss of

Carol, Cindy and family: Your father was the definition of "awesome" and it was obvious you all loved him dearly. He always seemed to enjoy the many events at Jefferson and the plays at Moonlight Amphitheater. A celebration of his life is a fitting tribute. Rosie Marks & Family
