So he put his arm around her, and he whispered come with me
With tearful hearts we watched her go.
Although we loved her dearly we could not make her stay
A golden heart stopped beating; hard working hands came to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
That he only takes the Best.
Andrea Marie Samuels, was born in Jamaica, on a Cool September night in 1971, the child of Genieva Brown and Alphonso Samuels. She weighed only five pounds but soon grew into a happy and chubby baby. As a child growing up she was obedient, loving and happy, she loved to go to school and church. She was baptized when she was 13 years old, and was on the teen Choir and Drama group at church.
Andrea graduated from high school in Jamaica, and a few months after that she immigrated to Oceanside California, where she lived with her Dad and family, and eventually got an apartment of her own. After Attending Mira Costa College, she went to Phoenix University, where she received her Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Accounting.
Andrea worked for several different companies in San Diego County. In 2017, after living in California for most of her life, she decided to make a change, and moved to Florida. At first life was a bit rough but she was a very independent person, so she stuck it out, and in a few months she got a good job.
Andrea had a mild attack of Lupus while she was living here in California, and after she recovered she changed her diet and lifestyle. She became a very strict Vegan and she would send her mom recipes and told her what to eat and what not to eat. She also sent photos of dishes she prepared and told her mom to try to cook the same ones. She was a Certified Holistic Nutritionist. She gave advice and prepared food for people who were busy.
She was also an avid Cyclist and a Runner. She Joined a Cyclist Team and they went to different States to compete. She ran Marathons and half marathons, and just for exercise, and she had many Trophies
For the many races she had run.
Unfortunately in 2021 there were signs that the Lupus was flaring –up again, she was in the Doctor’s office actually every week while still working from home, The Lupus affected her lungs and Kidneys which caused her to have a low oxygen level. She was able to travel to London and Paris on her last birthday in September, and she spent Christmas here in California with her mom and step-dad.
We are going to miss you so much Andrea, your beautiful smile, your kind heartedness your love for people, animals and the environment. You volunteered to work in animal shelters, and beach clean-up.
Andrea is survived by her Mother Genieva, Step Dad Art, her Father Alphonso and his wife Sonia (her stepmother), her brother Clifton in Jamaica, Sister Monique, Aunts Doreen and Eunice in England, Uncles Toney, Eric, and Clinton in Jamaica, Nephews Andre', Janor, and Terrence.
