

Andrew Michael Cerda of San Diego, California, passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 39. A 2008 graduate of UC Berkeley, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a focus on Mass Communications. Andrew worked as a human resources recruiter for many startup companies, most recently at Headway, where he was a founding member of Headway’s DEI Committee and established its Pride ERG. Andrew embraced his Native American roots by contributing to Native American Heritage Month at his work. He was a member of the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians where he participated in Tribal Meetings and annual Pow Wows which are held at the San Luis Rey Mission in Oceanside. Andrew made many lifelong friends during his life, earning a reputation for kindness. He loved to travel and always made an effort to be present at family gatherings and celebrations. Although Andrew is no longer with us, his beautiful spirit will live on in our hearts and minds forever.
Andrew is survived by his parents, Albert H. Cerda, Jr., and Katherine L. Cerda, and by his brother Nathaniel C. Cerda.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A committal service will follow from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at:
