It is with great sadness that Benjamin Valenzuela Jr. passed away on October 4th, 2024. He was born on July 15th, 1950, and moved his family to San Diego from Bakersfield over 27 years ago. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ben was a mentor, and provided wisdom and love to everyone! He was known for his unwavering determination, ambition, love, and supporting his family. Ben was a selfless leader, and hard worker who always had a smile that lite up when sharing his stories with his grandchildren or whomever needed some guidance.
Benjamin joined the United States Army in 1970 serving in the Vietnam war. He served until being honorably discharged. During his time in active duty, he received the National Defense Service Medal (NDSM), The Vietnam Service Medal (VSM), and expert marksmanship of the M-16 sniper rifle. He was an airborne ranger and real hero!
He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Valenzuela Sr. and Margarita Valenzuela. He is survived by his lovely wife of Sara Valenzuela; Sons Benjamin Valenzuela III; Maverick Valenzuela and wife April Valenzuela; Daughter Kristina Valenzuela-Goshorn and husband David Goshorn; Grandchildren: Gisele Goshorn, Cruz Benjamin Munoz, Kona Valenzuela, Niko Valenzuela, Bryson Valenzuela, Jade Valenzuela and Madison Valenzuela. Ben had a huge family of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
