We are saddened to announce the passing of Betty (Boo) Clark, 80 years, on May 4, 2019 at Life Care Center in Vista, California. She was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
She was born on May 22, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana to the late Maurice and Ruby Williams. Betty graduated from high school in 1956 and then moved to Santa Ana, California in 1957. Her parents and twin brothers moved to California in 1960.
Betty married her late husband Tyler W. Clark, Jr., in 1965 after meeting him in Hawaii the year before. Her favorite story was how she met a drunken sailor and then married him! They had one son, Tracey who was born in 1967. They lived in Garden Grove, Anza, Palm Desert, and finally Oceanside. Betty had many jobs over the years, but her favorite was working for the Army and Navy Academy. Even after leaving, she always spoke fondly of her time there and found time to visit whenever she could. She was even more proud having her daughter-in-law working there too.
Betty was a people person. Wherever Betty lived, her home was always open to everyone. If there wasn’t a party at her house (summer pool parties too), it would be at the beach or camping. She just loved being around family and friends. We can’t forget her precious dogs over the years too (Bowser, Tiger, Muffin, Jeffro and Sami). But, most importantly, was her love and dedication to the Boy Scouts of America. She was involved throughout the time Tracey was little until just a few years ago. Betty also enjoyed reading and playing games (especially Canasta and Dominoes). She loved shopping and always found a way to get the best deals.
She is survived by her son Tracey and his wife Tamara, granddaughter Ashleigh, grandson Tyler, brother Robert and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Tyler W. Clark, Jr., and her brother Richard Williams.
Betty will be buried with her husband at Riverside National Cemetery on Friday, June 7th at 1:30 p.m. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, June 8th beginning at 1 p.m. at Mance Buchanon Park in Oceanside, CA.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Boys Scouts of America, Humane Society or National Kidney Foundation
