Betty was the 4th child born to Willie and Marie Koepp on a farm near Bridgewater, South Dakota. They lived there until she was six years old and the family moved to Canistota, South Dakota. Betty continued County School until she graduated from 8th grade. She continued Canistota High School until she graduated in 1940.
She worked at Queen City Fire Inc Co for 2 years, where she met her husband to be, which was in the Marine Corp. After a couple of years they settled in California for a new life
They had 4 children; 3 boys and 1 girl.
Betty's husband passed away in 2005.
