Billie Dolores Frazee passed away in Carlsbad, California, on February 27, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on February 20, 1933, in Geary, Oklahoma, to Doyce and Billie Marie Hedrick, Dolores moved with her family to California as a young girl. She attended elementary school in Fallbrook before the family settled in Carlsbad, where her father managed Rancho Cielito for film producer William Seiter and actress Marion Nixon.
A proud graduate of Oceanside-Carlsbad High School, Dolores was a spirited student who served as a majorette and was crowned the “Days of San Luis Rey” Rodeo Queen. It was during these school years that she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Frazee. They were married on February 11, 1951, at the Carlsbad Union Church and made their home in Carlsbad.
While supporting Bob throughout his career and later his time in public office, Dolores was a force in her own right. She was an active member of the Carlsbad Union Church, the Carlsbad Republican Women’s Club, and the Legislative Spouses Association. An athlete at heart, she was an avid swimmer—proudly earning her 50-mile Red Cross patch—and a regular on the tennis courts with her friends. As her daughters grew older, Dolores turned her passion for exploration into a career as a travel agent, facilitating the many world adventures she and Bob shared.
Dolores was preceded in death in 2009 by her beloved husband, Robert. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Kurner (Rick) and Nancy Frazee; her grandchildren, Robert Kurner and Charlotte Yonker (Derek); and her great-grandchildren, Everett and Hailey. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Russell (Skip) and Judith Dobbins, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate services of North County Hospice and the staff at Tri-City Hospital.
