Calvin, served in the United States Navy for 4 years then married his wife Joan and settled in Saugerties NY. They were married for 63 years. Calvin drove a tanker truck for Mobil for 25 years before retiring and moving to Oceanside.
He enjoyed traveling to Germany often. Calvin had many close friends and everywhere he went he always knew someone and had a story to share and or a joke.
He was predeceased by his sons Ronald Merz and Brian Merz. Surviving in addition to his wife Joan, are his children Susan (Bryan), Sandra Merz, and Glenn Merz (Kristen).
Cal leaves behind his Grandchildren, Jessica, Dan, Lynn, Heather, Nicki and Bryan Jr. and Great-grandchildren Lex, Kendall, Kyla, Kali, and Caleb.
As we mourn his loss, we find comfort in the memories we shared.
