Charles “Chuck” Weeks, 83, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away August 5, 2024. He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on June 5, 1941, to Charles Herbert Weeks and Anna Damiano. Chuck honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963 and the United States Marine Corp from 1963-1986. He was a Cryptologic Technician in the Republic of Vietnam in 1967/1968 and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1986. Chuck was married to Mary “May” Burke of Glasgow, Scotland on August 25, 1967. They were married 57 years and had 5 children.
Chuck was a passionate Marine, beloved husband, father, grandfather (papa), and friend. When Chuck walked into a room, he made friends immediately. At times when he met a fellow veteran, he would get their contact info just to mail them a bumper sticker. Chuck loved sports, especially Florida Gator and Jacksonville Jaguar football. As a Marine, he traveled the world, being stationed across the United States, as well as Turkey, Germany, Scotland, Spain, and Japan. He loved road tripping and often drove cross-country to visit his family, blaring Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons and The Temptations. Chuck loved movies, especially Westerns and James Bond. Chuck excelled at trivia, and you could quiz him on anything from music to movies to history to pop culture. He was a champion chair volleyball player in his retirement community. Most of all, Chuck loved being a dad and papa and was always there for his family for trips, graduations, weddings, births; or just picking up the phone to say hello.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother William “Billy” Weeks. Chuck is survived by his wife, May, and their 5 children Lynda, Donna, Judi, Chase, and Andrew. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
