
Daniel Temple Leetch Sr. Passed away on July 7, 2013 in Oceanside, California. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on January 15, 1928 to Daniel Charles Leetch and Clara Margaret Chaulk. He had two older brothers, Patrick and Jerry, both deceased. He graduated early from Rapid City High School joining the Navy at age 17, serving as a Medic in the Aleutian Islands and Okinawa, Japan. He married the love of his life Jane on April 30, 1950 in LA Daniel, a Navy reservist, was recalled from inactive status and served overseas during the Korean War. Upon recall Daniel and Jane relocated to Oceanside where he lived the rest of his life after being honorably discharged. He is survived by his wife, three children; Pamela Jane McBride (Husband Brian), Daniel Temple (Wife Marge) and Thomas Kelly and has two grandchildren: Kevin Patrick McBride and Kathleen Jane McBride, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel worked as mechanic with the civil service at Camp Pendleton. He enjoyed playing volleyball during every lunch hour until he retired in 1983.
He was very active lifelong member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, serving as an usher until health reasons forced him to stop (he then continued as a greeter). He also served as an Extraordinary Minister and was a member of Holy Name Society until it was disbanded. Daniel was also a Boy Scout leader for many years He loved driving and traveling and drove all over the country many times. He especially loved biking Along the ocean. He will be greatly missed by family and friends but we are Thankful h he died peacefully at home.
