It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward William Morgan, known to many as “Ed,” who passed away peacefully at his home in Oceanside, California, on February 6, 2025, at the age of 77.
Ed was born in Indiana to Walter William Morgan and Ruby Lee Morgan. Throughout his life, Ed served his country in multiple branches of the military, including the Army, Army Reserves, Air Force, and Navy. His dedication to service was a reflection of his strong sense of duty and love for his country.
A skilled diesel mechanic, Ed had a passion for working on trucks, and he took pride in his craft. He also worked as a crane operator for Edison, where he built lasting connections and earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.
Outside of his work, Ed had a love for spending time at the gun range, where he enjoyed shooting and honing his skills. Ed’s true heart, however, was in helping others. He was always ready to lend a hand, no matter the situation, and his generosity and willingness to assist those in need will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Ed is survived by his sister, Linda Barral, and her two children, as well as the Hernandez family, with whom he lived and shared many cherished moments. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends, including those special times when he would eagerly wait for Eder, to get home from work so they could check the temperature of the turbo on his work truck — a simple yet meaningful ritual that exemplified Ed’s love for the little things that brought him joy.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Ruby Morgan, and leaves behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and a passion for his family.
