Eileen Beverly Bragg, 77, returned to her heavenly home on September 8, 2016 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her firm belief in the Lord supported her in this struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Eileen was daughter to Margaret Myrtle (Tallman) and Earl William Wilson, and was born in Zion, IL on November 6, 1938. She was fully immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support, as a parishioner for 40 years at Grace Missionary Church in Zion, IL, and more recently at Cornerstone Christian Church in Vista, CA.
She enjoyed a career in the health services field for more than 40 years as a Medical Office Manager at Zion Clinic and then in Clinical Research for Abbott laboratories. She established lasting bonds and friendships with her co-workers and took great pride in her work. She was always willing and eager to help others, learn and acquire new skills.
Eileen met her husband and lifelong partner Miller Lee Bragg at the young age of 15 and they were married just days after her 17th birthday on November 11, 1955 in Zion IL. They celebrated their 60 year anniversary last fall. Eileen raised two beautiful daughters with profound love and patience, exemplifying a trust in the Lord and always tackling life’s joys and sorrows with a servant’s heart. She took immense joy in travel and landscape scenery, whether just blocks from home or traveling with her husband and girls across the country to take in the natural beauty of majestic prairies, mountains, and valleys.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her recently departed brother Melvin O’Hare (WI) and sister Esther McNutt (MO). She is survived by her devoted husband Miller Bragg (San Marcos, CA); two daughters Theresa Reboulet (Ashville, NC); Nancy (Ken) Wilcox (Vista, CA); three granddaughters Maria Rachel Miller White (Ashville, NC); Monica Hope (Thomas) Laughton (Oceanside, CA); Hillary Faith (Alexander) Anthony (La Mesa, CA); and 6 great-grandchildren Kylie Reneé, Elizabeth Hope, Asher James, Blaise Prescott, Cecilia Rose, and Dallan Xander. She is also survived by three siblings Marvin O’Hare (IA), John Wilson (MO), and Robert Wilson (TX), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted family.
She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate her life on earth, and the assurance of eternal life in Heaven. She was also beloved by many close friends who consider her “mother” and “grandma”, and her absence will be felt both near and far. Eileen and Miller traveled to California in 2014 to make their permanent home closer to family. Eileen spent many of her last days enjoying the company of her great-grandchildren, and imparting her faithful love and wisdom upon them.
Eileen’s life will be celebrated by a service at Cornerstone Christian Church (1010 Crestview Rd, Vista CA) at 1pm on Friday, September 23, followed by a graveside service at Eternal Hills Cemetery (1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside CA) at 2:30 with reception at Cornerstone Christian Church immediately following. There will be a visitation held the day before on Thursday, September 22, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park from 4:30pm-8:00pm. Prayers, condolences, and memories are gladly accepted by the family at www.eternalhillsmortuary.com
