Emma Jane Bowers Leetch was born March 1,1926 in Newville Township, PA to Samuel Irving Bowers and Ida Mary Morrison Bowers. She died on March 27, 2026, at 100 years old. She left home at 18 to study nursing in Harrisburg for the Cadet Nurse Corps. After graduating, she served in the VA hospital in Staten Island. When she was discharged, she and 2 girlfriends moved to Los Angeles and worked at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. She was set up with a blind date with her future husband Daniel Leetch. They were married in 1950 at the Catholic cathedral of our Lady of Angels. They moved to Oceanside when Dan was called back in the navel Reserves for the Korean conflict, and Emma worked in the emergency room on camp Pendleton. Emma worked in doctor offices and retired From Scripps Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by Daniel in 2013.
She is survived by 3 children Pamela Jane Leetch McBride (Brian), Daniel Temple Leetch (Marge), and Thomas Kelly Leetch. Two Grand Children Kevin Patrick McBride (Emma) and Kathleen Jane McBride Symer (Steven) and 4 Great grandchildren: Sean Wyatt McBride, Luke Daniel McBride, Nathan Sean Symer and Jack Logan Symer.
She will be interned at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, Ca.
