"Erlinda “Baby” Jacobo Dalidi, 82, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in Encinitas, California. Born in Manila, Philippines, to her loving parents Leocadio Jacobo and Victorina Vicuna Jacobo, she was one of nine siblings, growing up in a lively, close knit household that shaped her warmth, humor, and deep love for family.
In her early twenties, Erlinda immigrated to New Jersey before eventually planting deep roots in San Diego County, where she built a loving home and a vibrant community.
Erlinda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, who passed away on June 25, 2019. Together, they created a life centered on family, faith, and generosity.
A devoted Catholic, Erlinda spent many years leading Novena prayer groups at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Vista, California. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she shared it with others through prayer, compassion, and unwavering belief in Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary.
Erlinda was a homemaker for most of her life, a role she embraced with pride and love. She found joy in sewing, cooking, and connecting with friends and family—often through lively daily phone calls filled with stories and “chismis.” Her laughter was unmistakable, her smile bright, and her protective love for those she cared about was fierce and enduring.
She cherished time spent with her siblings, friends, and especially her family. She loved traveling to visit loved ones across Riverside County, Orange County, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Maryland, and New Jersey, always bringing her warmth and humor wherever she went.
Erlinda is survived by her two children, Josephe “Carlito” and Cielita “Chel,” her daughter in law Janette, and her four grandchildren—Mila, Alexandria, Emmelyn, and Leo—who were the lights of her life.
Her youngest grandchild, Leo, was born just days before her passing at the same hospital. Although she met him only a couple of times, her family knows she would have loved him just as deeply as she adored her three granddaughters. He carries a special connection to her through his name, lovingly chosen in honor of her father, Leocadio.
Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers and healthcare providers who supported her with compassion and dedication over the last several years.
Erlinda will be remembered for her contagious laughter, her bright and welcoming smile, her deep devotion to her faith, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew her."
