Frances N. Heinz

Frances Heinz passed January 28, 2013 at Palomar-Pomerado Hospital from complications of several chronic conditions. These conditions were controlled well such that Fran lived the life she wanted with few impediments.

She was the last and longest lived of 4 sisters born in Green Mountain, Iowa to Violet and Clifford Castor and was the matriarch of her mother's line. Several times she interrupted her college education to serve as a big sister to young nieces and nephews when they were ill.

Always easy to talk to and always having time for others, Fran's engaging personality harvested many friends throughout her life. She was an officer in the Oceanside Police Wives Association in her younger years and more recently a member and past president of the Oceanside Emblem Club, the Elks charitable arm, where she worked on and organized many fundraising events.

Fran married the love of her life, Henry Himmelspach, who preceded her in death 10 years ago. She will be buried next to him at San Luis Rey Mission.

She is survived by Henry's two daughters, Juli Teresa Meyers and Kim Elayne Alvarado, 3 grandchildren, Mark Henry Himmelspach, Brysa Victoria and Jayce Ariel Alvarado, a great grandson, Reilly Dean Alvarado, six nieces and three nephews.

Fran was known for her social nature, her love of games, reading and storytelling. She was a great friend, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, maker of bean dip, wearer of jeans, bling and butterflies.

In appreciation of Fran's many years of service, Oceanside Elk's Lodge 1471 will host a celebration of life in memory of her on Feb 6, 2013 following her interment at San Luis Rey Mission.

We love you very much and shall miss you and cherish the time we had with you.

Arrangements are being handled by Eternal Hills. Viewing will be from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, February 5 with reciting of the rosary at 7 pm.

Interment will be at 11 am on Wednesday, February 6 at San Luis Rey Mission. The celebration of life will follow at 12 pm at the Oceanside Elks Lodge.
