Homer Leslie Jenkins, Jr. was born December 18, 1937 in Waco, Texas. He moved his family to Oceanside, California in 1986, where he lived alongside his family relatives and friends. Homer entered into rest on March 9, 2017 in Oceanside, California.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Oballe Jenkins, his sister Dorathy Fay, three daughters: Kathy Jenkins, Amelia Akeroyd and Lydia Hernandez, two sons: Kenneth Jenkins and Martin Arispe, and 14 grandchildren: Kenneth Jenkins II, Chris Jenkins, Martin Ramirez, Justin Ramirez, Martin Arispe, Jr., Alexis Ramirez, Jessica Arispe, Elijah Hernandez, Sofia Hernandez, Jazmyne Arispe, Katy Jenkins, Kelley Jenkins, Stella Hernandez and Julianna Arispe.
Homer was an Air Force veteran who served from 1956 to 1976, including a tour in Vietnam. Later, he became an electrical engineer for various companies in Texas and California. Upon retirement, he began a second career pursuing his lifelong passion as a real estate agent and broker.
Homer touched the lives of many with his warmth, generosity and sense of humor. A memorial with military honors will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park on March 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
