Hsiao is survived by his wife, Yutai, and his children, Alexander and Jacqueline.
Hsiao was born in Zhejiang, China on January 7th, 1935. He graduated from National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan, and Nova Scotia Technical College, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He moved to Rockford, Michigan after obtaining his master's degree, working as a metallurgist until retiring in 2003. Hsiao married Yutai in 1980.
Hsiao enjoyed Chinese art and calligraphy, photography, classical music, hiking, traveling, seafood, and the company of family and friends. He was famous for his laughter and his stir fried lobster.
A service will be held on April 5th at 10 AM at Eternal Hills. Flowers may be sent to Eternal Hills at 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, California. Hsiao will be laid to rest at Rose Hills Memorial Park, in Whittier, California.
