John Hoffman was born on April 22, 1950 in Austria. He passed away on June 15, 2021 in Carlsbad, California. John moved to the United States with his family and spent most of his childhood in Ontario, California. He attended Chaffey High School and graduated from Cal Poly, Pomona with a degree in Engineering. His career led him to work for companies such as JPL, Ratheon, and Boeing. He traveled throughout the world working on various projects. John was an avid salt water fisherman, and loved to get out as often as possible to fish the waters with his friends. John enjoyed going to the gun range and working on his marksmanship and fine tuning his target practice. He was a movie buff and had an extensive collection of movies. John enjoyed going to the theater as well as watching at home on his home entertainment system. John loved his wife Kathleen and missed her love and company after her passing. He cherished their years together. John also loved his rescue dog, Freckles.
John was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, parents Peter and Katharina, and sister Maridi.
He is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Robert), nieces Carolyn (Anthony) and Diana (Robert) and their children, aunt and uncle Theresa and Don, and cousin Otto (Toni) and their son.
